Robin Bachin

Robin F. Bachin, Ph.D., is the Charlton W. Tebeau Associate Professor of History at the University of Miami (UM). Her areas of research and teaching include American urban, environmental, and cultural history. She is also founding director and assistant provost for Civic and Community Engagement at UM. Robin has received numerous awards for her leadership, scholarship, and teaching, including the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. She’s also received many fellowships and grants, including from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Mellon Foundation, and JPMorgan Chase. Her latest grant focuses on the intersections of affordable housing and sea level rise, looking at strategies to promote equitable urban resilience. Robin is project director for the Miami Housing Solutions Lab and a member of the Aspen Institute Working Group on Inclusive Innovation in America’s Cities.
