How can I stay in touch with National Geographic?

If you’d like to stay in touch with National Geographic, visit the National Geographic On Campus website at natgeo.org/oncampus to sign up to receive emails with updates and information on how you can contribute to creating a planet in balance.

Do I have to attend the full day if I register for the Science & Storytelling Symposium?

We hope that you will join us for the entire Science & Storytelling Symposium on Friday, November 9. You won’t want to miss the inspirational National Geographic Explorers, UM scholars, and local thought leaders on stage, and there will be a free lunch for all attendees. But we understand that you may have a pre-existing conflict on that day. In that case, join us for as much of the program as you can.

Do I have to pay to attend?

No. The On Campus event on Friday is completely free for currently enrolled University of Miami students, faculty, and staff. The National Geographic-Led Workshops on Saturday are available only to UM students.

I applied for a National Geographic-Led workshop, when will I hear back?

Thank you for your application submission to National Geographic Explorer-Led Workshop program on Saturday, November 10. Due to overwhelming response, we will now notify students of their workshop application status on Monday, November 5.

Do I need to be a photographer?

No. While some background in photography may be useful for certain National Geographic-Led Workshops, it is not a requirement to participate.

I am attending the event from the Medical or RSMAS campus. Where should I park for this event?

All of the spaces throughout campus along with the Pavia Garage can be used for parking. Please make sure to use a pay station or the Pay-by-Phone option.

Is there a dress code? What should I wear?

You may come as you are, but keep in mind that there will be networking opportunities throughout the day.
