Carley Lovorn

Carley LovornCarley Lovorn is the regional director for National Geographic’s Educator Network overseeing Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. She has spent most of her career in the education and nonprofit sectors, most recently as the assistant director of the University of Mississippi’s Mississippi Geographic Alliance. Before that, she worked in informal and adult education as executive director of an immigrant center. She enjoys traveling and has lived outside of the United States on three occasions—in Nicaragua, Mozambique, and Guatemala. Carley is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Nicaragua, '99-'01) with a master's degree in international social welfare and policy from Columbia University. She is a founding board member and active volunteer at the Tree of Life Free Clinic in Tupelo, Mississippi, and Mississippi's advocacy coordinator for the National Peace Corps Association.
